Privacy policy

Try Jev is operated by Magery.ai (“we”, “us”). This page explains what happens to your data when you use this site. There are no accounts — you don’t sign up, and we don’t ask for your name or email to use the form.

What we store

When you send a request through the Try Jev form, we store one row: the text you submitted, your question and its type, Jev’s answer, your locale, the model used, token counts, how long the request took, its status, your uid cookie value, the salted hash of your IP address, the versions of the Terms of Service and this Privacy policy you accepted, and when it happened. We keep these rows to enforce the request limits, to prevent abuse and to investigate problems with answers.

Rows are deleted automatically after 90 days.

Your IP address

We never store your IP address as such. Before it touches storage, it is hashed with SHA-256 and a private salt. That hash is used only to apply rate limits per visitor.

Cookies

We set two cookies ourselves, both strictly necessary to run the site, plus a third that remembers your cookie choice:

  • uid — a random identifier, set the first time you open the page that has the form. HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax, lasts one year. Used to apply per-visitor limits and to link your requests together.
  • lang — the language you chose. Lasts one year. Used to show the site in your language.
  • cookie_consent — remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies. Lasts 180 days.

Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner shown at the bottom of the page — see “Analytics” below. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer.

Cloudflare, which protects the site, may also set its own strictly necessary security cookies (such as __cf_bm) to tell people from bots.

Analytics

If you accept the cookie banner, we use Yandex Metrica, a web analytics service operated by YANDEX LLC (Russia), to understand how the site is used. It never loads, and sets no cookies, unless you accept — declining keeps the site fully usable, and nothing is required to use the Try Jev form.

Once you accept, Yandex Metrica collects: the pages you visit, clicks and scrolling, your device and browser information, your approximate location derived from your IP address, and the page that referred you. It also uses Session Replay (Webvisor) to record how you interact with the page — but everything you type into the Try Jev form, and the question and answer shown in the results panel, is masked in these recordings, so it can’t be seen in them.

Only after you accept, Yandex Metrica stores cookies whose names start with _ym (such as _ym_uid, _ym_d, _ym_isad and _ym_visorc) on this site, and similar entries in your browser’s local storage. Yandex may also set its own cookies (such as yandexuid, i, yuidss and ymex) on Yandex’s domains. Yandex lists them all in its cookie documentation.

Yandex processes this data under its own terms, and it may be transferred to and stored in Russia. See Yandex Metrica’s Terms of Use and Yandex’s Privacy Policy.

You can withdraw your consent at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer. Declining deletes Metrica’s cookies and local-storage data on this site; cookies Yandex set on its own domains can be deleted in your browser settings.

Server logs

Our server keeps an application log of each request: the method, the path, the status, the first six characters of your uid cookie, and a short message. It never records the text you submit, your question, or your IP address. This log rotates daily and is kept for 30 days; the copy Docker keeps of the container’s output is also capped in size. Our web server keeps no access log. It does keep an error log for troubleshooting: when a request fails or is rate-limited, that entry includes your IP address. The error log is kept for 14 days.

Third parties

  • TypeSafe operates the Jev model. The text and question you send are passed to its API to produce the answer, and TypeSafe processes that data under its own terms — we don’t control how long TypeSafe keeps it. See docs.typesafe.ai.
  • Cloudflare sits in front of the site as a CDN and proxy, and runs the Turnstile check that confirms you are not a script. To do this, it processes your IP address and request metadata.
  • Yandex operates Yandex Metrica, which we use for analytics only if you accept the cookie banner. See “Analytics” above.

We don’t sell or share your data for advertising.

Your rights

You can ask us to find, show you, or delete your data. Write to [email protected] with roughly when you sent the request and the text you used, so we can find the row. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

The text you paste is meant to be a sample — an email, a review, a message. Please avoid pasting anything personal, confidential or sensitive.

Changes

We may update this policy. Each new version gets a new “Last updated” date and time at the top of this page.
